Alastair Noakes is a distinguished Accredited Specialist in both Family Law and Children's Law, making him one of two practicing lawyers in Victoria with this dual accreditation. As an accredited specialist Alastair holds a high level of knowledge and experience in his field, dedicating his practice exclusively to these areas.

Alastair earned his law degree from Monash University in 2017 however his foundational knowledge is further enriched by undergraduate and postgraduate studies in psychology, providing a comprehensive understanding of the complexities involved in family and children's legal matters.

Before embarking on his legal career, Alastair gained invaluable experience working with families involved with the Victorian Child Protection system. This role enhanced his skills in addressing the needs of children and families at risk of harm, as well as afforded him a compassionate approach when supporting victim survivors of family violence. Alastair prides himself on championing the rights of children and families involved in litigation. Recognising that children's voices are often marginalised in court processes, he strives to ensure they are heard and considered.

Alastair is deeply committed to supporting the LGBTIQA+ community. He recognises the unique legal challenges faced by LGBTIQA+ individuals and families, especially in family law matters such as parenting disputes and child protection cases. His inclusive approach ensures that all clients, regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation, feel respected and understood. Alastair has a strong track record of advocating for the rights of LGBTIQA+ clients, providing them with the legal support they need to navigate complex issues with confidence.

Alastair’s practice encompasses a broad spectrum of family law matters, including complex property and parenting matters, assisting parents and carers navigate the Child Protection and Children’s Court process, child and adult adoption applications, donor agreements, and Intervention Order proceedings.

Alastair prioritises finding practical and cost-effective solutions for clients, and wherever possible, works to resolve matters without the need for court involvement. However, where litigation is necessary and appropriate to protect a person’s interests, Alastair's unique combination of legal expertise and psychological insight positions him as a formidable advocate for families navigating the complexities of any case.
